Pioneering for nearly 200 years


The rich history of Compagnie des Montres Longines, Francillon S.A, dates back nearly 200 years to 1832 founded by Auguste Agassiz. By 1867 factory watches bear the ‘Longines’ name and the famed ‘Winged Hourglass’ logo that is still emblazoned on all watches today.

A long association with the equestrian world dates to 1869 enhancing a greater legacy for Longines. Many chronograph calibres and automated instruments bearing the Longines name have been seen at racing, eventing and dressage events around the world.

With many years of experience as a timekeeper for world championships in sport and as a partner of international sports federations, Longines has forged solid and lasting links with the world of sport over the years.
