The jewellery industry is full of larger, more aggressive, and less caring companies. Although they shout the loudest, this doesn’t necessarily mean they’re better. We believe that we have a responsibility to support our town centres and independent retailers, who are facing huge challenges within the retail world.
We also believe we have a responsibility to give something back, helping the world become a better place. Although we’re not ones to shout about all the work we do, we’re happy to quietly do our part.
Although we are focused on ensuring the satisfaction of our customers, over the years we are thrilled to have received recognition for what we do. This has come in the form of numerous industry awards, which reinforces the quality of our services and products. Our most recent award was presented at the 2019 UK Jewellery Awards, where we were crowned the winners of the ‘Retail Sales Team of the Year’, as well as being shortlisted for ‘Store Design of the Year’ for our Blackburn location.
The UK Jewellery Awards are known within the trade as the ‘Oscars of the jewellery industry’ and as the standard of entries is now so high, just to be shortlisted was outstanding, but to win is just incredible.
As a company, we have always had a very strong partnership with Thomas Sabo and knew that we hadn’t yet reached the full potential of that relationship – and what the brand was capable of.
When the unit next door to our Preston store became available, we made the decision to invest in it and launch the very first Thomas Sabo boutique store – run by Peter Jackson, and not by the brand. This has allowed us to blend the two companies together and achieve mutual success.
The relationship still provides us with unfaltering support from Thomas Sabo, as they assist in ensuring we maintain consistency in brand messaging – but we can deliver a more personal Peter Jackson service to our customers.
Peter Jackson the Jeweller started life in St. Georges Centre, Preston in 1982 and remains in the same location over 40 years later. The Blackburn branch was opened in The Mall in 1988.
In 2012 it was announced in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list that our Managing Director, Peter Jackson was to be awarded an MBE by Her Majesty the Queen for services to charity.
Over the years, we are honoured to have won a number of prestigious awards including UK Independent Jeweller of the Year and a number of training awards and most recently the East Lancashire Retailer of the Year award.
